I read a quote taken from a friend of a friend’s Facebook status
that said: “God
will preserve you completely so that you can fulfill His plan.” I loved that quote and quickly clicked the “like”
button and was ready to move on to the next status update. But the word preserve
caught my attention, so much so that I felt compelled to investigate it. I consulted
dictionary.com to understand what preserve
really meant. One of the definitions seemed befitting “to keep safe
from harm or injury; protect or spare.” I also searched the scriptures to
find out about God preserving us and in Psalms
32:7 it says “Thou art my hiding
place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with
songs of deliverance. Selah.” No
it is not a new concept or principle,
but for me it is a great reminder of how the Father cares for us.
I cannot even begin to grasp the lengths that our Father goes
to “preserve”
His children. I am humbled by His desire to keep me from harm and the many
times He has spared my life. The fact is that we serve an AMAZING GOD
that loves us! We can rejoice because He is always
looking out for us, even when we don’t feel like He is.
Today, you can rest in knowing that the
Almighty God is preserving you!
