Anyone that knows me can tell you that there are things that I just don’t do. I am not into chemistry. I am not an adventure seeker. I don’t swim. And as far as things that gross me out, puke is #1 on my list. I don’t do puke!!!
Well sometimes those things that you say you’d never do or you don’t do are null and void when it comes to being a momma. Let me explain a perfect scenario. It was a quiet Sunday evening. We had a great day at church, spent time with family and served with our church doing outreach ministry. We had made it home and everyone was trying to get settled in for the cold night. I had actually already started my process by dozing in and out of consciousness on the sofa while catching glimpses of a Hallmark movie.
And then I heard it, my youngest
son was in the bathroom, doing what?
PUKING!!! I
did what any mother would do I quickly sprang to my feet and went to his rescue.
I cleaned him up.
Changed the linen,
Washed the soiled linen.
Scrubbed
the floors.
Put him back in
the bed and kept a guarded watch over him throughout
the night.
I laughed at my self once the
clean-up process was over. I thought not bad for someone “who doesn’t do puke”. Not once in the midst of that whole ordeal
did I allow my serious detest for puke stop me from going to his rescue. Not
once did I think about not helping him out. I did what was necessary to make
sure he was well. I didn’t give it a second thought.
He’s my child.
I love him.
And I will do what is necessary to
take care of him, even clean up puke.
But isn’t that how God feels about
us? He goes to great lengths to take care of us no matter what. He is there for us in times of trouble, in times of need. He is there for us at our worst. He comes to our
rescue at our lowest point. Why?
Because His love for us is so deep, so wide, so
vast.
I find comfort in knowing that there is NOTHING we can do that
can change, cause to decrease or separate us from His love. Be encouraged today!
