You
know there is something within each of us that has the ability to build a
person up or the opposite side of that is the ability to tear someone down.
Unfortunately, working with teenagers all day I see the latter more often than
I would like to. It seems as if their default mode of operating is to use words
that destroy character, crush feelings, and bring about negative consequences.
But it is not just with my students, I often see it in some of the adults too. They
may not even know a person and they say things that are down right mean. They
often go looking for the negative things in people instead of the positive
things about them. I don’t get it! “Why?” I often ask myself. I think sometimes it is a
symptom of much more serious issues like unresolved things from their past, or
a revelation of their own unhappiness. It
really is sad. I feel the need to pray for people like that. They must have
a miserable existence if they delight in hurting others.
I
choose to operate in the gift of building others up. It brings me joy to see
other people in good spirit, happy, excited, and smiling. I know that
encouragement is an area I am gifted in. It is my heart’s desire to encourage
those God puts in my path. I am an
encourager.
I
say to you today:
You are blessed! (Psalms 2:12)
You are the apple of God’s eye! (Zechariah 2:8)
You are an overcomer! (I John 5:4)
You are loved! (John 3:16)
May You Be Encouraged
Today And An Encourager To Someone Else!

But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called
"Today," lest any one of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.
Hebrews 3:13
~ Therefore encourage one another and
build one another up, just as you are doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11
