Do you (really) know Him?

If asked, most will say that they know Who God is. Most will give you the traditional answer; “He is God, the creator of the Heaven and the Earth, He is The Father of the Holy Trinity“ or something in regards to His position. There is certainly nothing wrong with this, but the question is, do we really know who He is? In those times when we go through our own personal struggles, do we know God to be Who we need Him to be at that time? 

Each day He is teaching me more and more about who He is. Just yesterday I was really sick and could not shake it. It was such that I couldn’t carry on my normal routine. I climbed in bed not long after I got home from work (and for me that was a big deal). I knew I needed God to touch my body. As I lay in the bed I called on Him as Jehovah Rapha, which means "I am the Lord Your Physician or I am the Lord Your Healer” (Exodus 15:26) because I needed Him to be my healer in that situation.

What is your situation, your tailor made struggle that you face today?

Are you in a situation where you need God to provide for you, to meet a need? You need to know Him as JEHOVAH-JIREH "The Lord our provider" - (Gen. 22:14).

Are you in a situation where you need God to be your protection, your covering, to go before you in the presence of your enemies? You need to know Him as JEHOVAH-NISSI "Our banner, a banner of love and protection" - (Ex. 17:15).

Are you in a situation when you need God to calm you in the midst of your situation filled with storms, trials, or tests? You need to know Him as JEHOVAH-SHALOM "Our perfect peace" - (Judges 6:24)

Are you in a situation where you need to be reminded who God is, that He is there even if you don’t feel that He is? You need to know Him as JEHOVAH-SHAMMAH "The One Who is with us everywhere for He is Omnipresent" - (Ezekiel 48:35)

No matter what our situation, He is always there for us.
