The
infamous question “What’s Next?” is
one that I normally avoid asking because in most cases I fear what the “next” thing will be. This is especially the
case when things are going crazy in my life and I fear that what will follow
will be even worse than what I previously faced. But I must be honest that sometimes
that same fear appears even when the question “What’s Next?” relates to my walk with God. Not that I fear that
something bad is going to happen, but it’s more a fear of "not knowing" or not being
able to do what He requires of me in that “next”
phase of my journey. For me, this arouses a certain level of anxiety and as a result
my stepping into my next level of growth somehow gets put on pause. Thankfully,
I am learning that the question “What’s
Next?” doesn’t have to be taken in such a negative fashion, in fact it’s
one that I am learning to embrace and use on a regular basis. You see as I grow
in my relationship with God and he continues to show me things and to trust me more
with His assignments, I am learning that “What’s
Next?” is not only a good question to ask, but it is one that I believe God
wants to hear me say. It shows Him my level of expectation or anticipation for
His plan to unfold in my life.
What
about you, do you anticipate God moving in your life? Do you desire to move into your next level of growth? Perhaps you are like me a bit fearful of the “unknown” or
fearful that you will not be able to accomplish the things He has for you to do.
I am sure that there are many that have those same feelings, but I believe the
enemy uses that as a weapon to keep us from pursuing our God given destiny. We
have to draw a line in the sand and say no more! It’s time to shake off that
fear and allow God to give you and me too the divine strength to forge ahead!
I
have decided that no longer will I be fearful of the next phase or the next
level in my life. No longer will I be satisfied with the status quo in the spiritual
realm. I want more of Him! I know that there is a destiny planned
for me and I desire to walk in it. I am after the things He has for me. I say
to God today, “What’s Next?” and I
challenge you to do the same. I believe that we will stand in awe as we watch Him reveal to us something far exceeding the plans we have for our own lives.
We must trust
His leading and be obedient!
Be encouraged today!
