The Father’s Love

In the midst of the craziness of yesterday, while trying to see about my almost 80 year old dad , God was teaching me something about His love for His children. The scenario was where I was trying to take my dad to the doctor to get his eyes checked on. He wasn’t feeling his best, but in the midst of trying to get him ready and get him checked out all he could do was think about me and my well being. He kept saying “I know you have things to do.” “I don’t want you to have to do this. ” or “I am sorry you have to take care of me.” I explained to him that I was honored to do it and that it wasn’t a bother. I thought to myself, here he is ailing in his body, his mind coming and going but yet he still puts me, his child first. It melted my heart.

I then thought about the fact that our Heavenly Father’s love is even greater than that. I am reminded of the lyrics to a song by Stuart Townend (How Deep The Father’s Love For Us).
How deep the Father's love for us,
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure

The chorus goes on to say:
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

May you be reminded of His love for you today. May you rest in knowing that you have a Father that cares for you, is always looking out for you and wants nothing but the very best for you, His child. Be encouraged today.
