Do you feel
like there is something compelling you to do more than you are doing right now? If you said
yes then we share that same feeling. This is referred to as a “sense of urgency”, it’s that feeling
that says “Now is the time to do it, not
tomorrow!” or simply “Act Now!”.
For me there are definite things that I know God has given me instructions to
do, but up until now I have been dragging my feet on moving on these things. I
have procrastinated. I have allowed fear to convince me to press pause. I have
rationalized in my own mind why it is not logical or feasible to make a move. I
have come to the end of my excuse list and I hear God so clearly giving me a red
light that says URGENT!
Perhaps you too have this compelling sense of urgency
to step out and operate in that which He has called you to do. What is your response
to this? I can’t answer for you, but my answer is “Yes, God. I will do it. I know I have put it off for far too
long. Am I afraid? Yes! Do I feel under-qualified? Yes! Am I going to do it anyway? Yes! Why you
may ask? I am making a move now because first and foremost I am operating in
disobedience when I don’t do it. My other reasons are that I am simply tired of
not doing, tired of watching my destiny go unfulfilled, and tired of seeing
others who need the gifts He has given me fall by the way side. I feel the
sense of urgency! I have to do it!
It is urgent because time is running out. Others need our gifts to be fully
operational. God desires to use us to bring those who don’t know Him or those
that have strayed away, in. I am making a move now! No longer will my name be on God's inactive list. What about yours?
