I Trust You

How many times have we made the the declaration to someone "I trust you." whether it was in response to something simple like leaving a task for them to complete or something big like leaving our child or children in their care. I know I have said it a million times in different situations. And I meant it, I think. But when we say " I trust you", the fact of the matter is that trust factor is actually quite varied in levels. Some people's trust is only for a short period of time or only in certain situations or only as a last resort or even based on a certain distance. While they say "I trust you." they are thinking "I trust you if, or as long as..". We may laugh at this, but a lot of us are the same way with our trust in God. We say we trust Him, but in actuality our trust is conditional. We trust Him as long as we can see the progress. We trust Him as long as He works the way we think He should work. We trust Him based on a certain time frame we think He should work in. Basically our trust is essentially not trust at all. I am reminded of a favorite scripture I love to quote, Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean NOT to your own understanding, but in ALL your ways acknowledge Him and He WILL direct your paths." As I go through life and have had to walk through some tough things, I am learning to evaluate my trust in God. I have had to really dig deep and find out the conditions that my trust in God are based on, and I have many of them. I have to realize that my trust in Him has to be just that " I trust Him." That's it. Not when, not how, not if this is met or if the outcome is this way. I must trust Him regardless of my circumstances, my feelings, my bank account, or the way others respond. I trust you God!
