If I had not seen it with my own eyes I would not believe it. It used to be a little wooded forest type area and now huge trucks, underground pipes, and heavy machinery inhabit the land. Where trees, grass, soil, and leaves once resided, gravel and a clay-like material have now taken their place. The reality was that they were constructing a road in the middle of the woods. It was just the beginning of the process, but I could see it coming together slowly. I used to attend the church right beside that same once wooded area. The thought of putting a road there never crossed my mind. I guess I just couldn’t see how it could be done, but some great mind had already conceptualized it, planned it, and now they are executing the construction of a road in what seems to me an unlikely place.
Seeing the construction process of that road reminds me of a familiar Bible story. It’s the story of Moses leading the Israelites out of bondage. Pharaoh was gaining ground behind them and ahead of them was the daunting Red Sea. It seemed as if there was no way out! I am sure they couldn’t fathom that a “road” could be made in the middle of the sea for them to cross into safety on dry ground. Yet God had already foreseen it, planned it, and He was executing His plan not only before the Israelites, but right in front of their enemies. That’s how God works. The scriptures says in Isaiah 55:8-9 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.“ As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Only God can do something like that. He is still providing "roads" today for His children. “Road” is used symbolically, representing a way out or a breakthrough that God does in our lives. No, we may not see the “road” He will provide on our behalf, but He will do it. And yes, it may be in an unlikely place or in an unlikely way, but there is a purpose for it. He knows exactly what He is doing. Others may look at your situation and say there is no way you can come out of that. But God will do the impossible on your behalf. In what situation in your life do you need God to provide a “road”? Make your request known and trust that He will do it. You will look back on it and know that indeed we serve an AWESOME God!!!
~ Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the Lord drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided, and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left. Exodus 14: 21-22
